John 14:26 (KJV)

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
→ He teaches and reminds believers of Jesus’ words.

The Holy Spirit is our Comforter – He’s called “Comforter.” That word Comforter comes from the Greek Word παράκλητος (paraklētos) and it’s Pronunciation: par-ah-klay-tos

The word literally means “one who is called alongside to help.”
It comes from two Greek parts:

  • para (παρά) = beside, alongside
  • kaleō (καλέω) = to call

So, a paraklētos is someone called to stand beside you — to strengthen, support, defend, and comfort you – That someone is the Holy Spirit, who is the Comforter-the strengthener, supporter, defender, and comforter! That’s what the Holy Spirit does in the lives of a believer.

Are you a believer in Jesus Christ? If not, become one today so you can receive the precious gift of the Holy Spirit – God’s gift to mankind.
